Thank you. … Oddly, just yesterday in a used book store, I’d picked up a translation of “The Bar Kokhba Syndrome” by Y. Harkabi. Intrigued by the title, I’d taken it off the shelf, read the introduction, and decided I needed to find time to study its contents.
I don’t know anything about content yet, but the author’s Intro says it was originally written for an Israeli audience. That implies that this utterly-Christian American will have to do some head-scratching and research digging, but it should be far different than the average book written on this (my) side of the pond.
Pg. 105 “… to admire the Bar Kokhba Rebellion is to admire rebelliousness and heroism detached of responsibility for their consequences. This is the Bar Kokhba Syndrome”
Hmmmm. Damn near drags me back into a study of recent um ah er … you know.
