Few in today’s America know (or care) much about history. Donald’s is out there in web news archives. Use articles published prior to 2010, and double/triple check.
“What’s He Really Worth”: Timothy L. O’Brien, New York Times, Oct. 23, 2005 (Donald was a NYC Democrat back then, and because of that, the Times can be trusted on the topic.)
Research his father, Fred Trump, and his father’s business practices. The 1950s Senate committee investigating the post-World War II, FHA funding scandal. Research Fred Trump Jr, what happened between him and Daddy, and why did it go that way? What were Daddy’s methods in trying to get what he wanted out of Junior? What happened to the young man in his early 40s.
Why did Fred switch to Donald, and what was Donald allowed to do as the then-new “brand” of the Trump Organization? What did the family mean by saying Donald became expert at “hoovering”. Why did his older sister (with a career as a Federal Judge in Connecticut) say that Donald is a knee-jerk liar? … The podiatrist with his office in a Fred Trump-owned building and a medical diagnosis of a bone spur. Young Donald played sports all through school, and subsequently said that anyone joining the military is a “loser” and a “fool”. … Did he write any part of “Art of the Deal”? … Epstein and “wingmen”.
Norman Vincent Peale at Marble Collegiate Church in Manhattan. WHY did Fred begin taking the family there? Donald’s said he’s never been much of a Christian, that he’s never felt a need to ask God’s forgiveness, but he does remember a lot about Peale. … “Prosperity gospel”. Paula White. … (What of “he who goes to sit at the foot of the table”?)
What did elements of America’s Christianity begin turning into after the Second World War? (For starters, research the 1965 book titled “The Comfortable Pew”.) … Mega-churches and televangelism. What would Søren Kierkegaard have to say about it? How would the dialogue in C.S. Lewis’ “Screwtape Letters” treat it?
Years ago, members of Donald’s family said that deep inside, he’s a terrified little boy. He knows what happened between his father and older brother. The boy’s scared of it being done to himself. That’s behind Donald’s reflexive rage when anyone criticizes him. … He says he doesn’t touch alcohol. Why? … Many times he’s said that ordinary rules don’t apply to him. What did Fred Trump Sr. have to do with cementing that self-image into Donald during the 1970s and 80s?
Who actually ran the Trump Organization until the late 1980s. Was it Donald? Since then, who does the name Weisselberg refer to? Over time, what effect has Donald had on the company’s debt load? What was behind the 1995 IPO? What became the rating of the bonds which Hotels & Casino Resorts sold in 2003?
The late Libertarian blogger Andrew Breitbart said Donald isn’t conservative in any manner, that he’s a celebrity putting on an act. … Many times, Donald’s bragged about being “a star”. He’s said stars can do whatever they want. … Why did he come to love social media? Those who habitually follow social media, what do they want, what turns them on?
By the way, I voted for him three times – 2016, 2020 & 2024 – each time for very specific, well-thought-through reasons. In 2016, I already knew 95% of what’s posted above.
To understand The Donald’s emotions regarding “endless wars”, go back to September 1968 and the letter taken to his local draft board. He’s since bragged about that – bragged very openly. He’s publicly said that anyone who got drafted was stupid, because there were ways to get out of it.
Members of his family have said, he’s terrified of dying, and of being disfigured. He doesn’t like military cemeteries, and there’s a frantically-covered-up story about him avoiding a 2018 ceremony at the Aisne-Marne Cemetery, where the American dead of the Belleau Wood battle are interred.
Today, there is only one deviation from the standard dress blue uniform of the United States Marine Corps. Active serving members of the 5th and 6th Regiments wear the French fourragère – the Croix de Guerre, awarded to those regiments for having stopped the German advance coming out of Belleau Wood.
The Donald has long-called such men … “losers”.
The pitiful thing about America today is that Trump’s core political base don’t understand any of that, nor do they seem to want to.
