Re: the theocracy’s reasons for supporting hyper-radical Sunni-ism, perhaps one should note that the central executive authority in Iran is titled the Expediency Council. It’s VERY interesting that a totalitarian theocracy would even entertain, for an instant, the idea of “expediencies”.
