We should note that the government of Iran, which hungers for the extermination of Judaism, is in fact a clearly defined Theocracy: Supreme Leader, Expediency Council, Guardian Council, Assembly of Experts. A theocracy’s gut-level behavior is firmly rooted in a Religion (capitalized here to mean a specific definition of doctrine and dogma.)
From 20 years of research, I firmly believe the Iranian Theocracy [1] is not mainstream Shi’a, and [2] in its day-to-day functioning, doesn’t believe in a Higher Being, a Divine.
Ruhollah was solely about himself. Ali Khamenei is too, but being merely a country parson, exists as S.L. only because of personal ties to the IRGC leadership going back to the early ’80s. Most of the Iranian ulema are in it for the loot they get through the corrupt bonyads.
(They also hunger for the extermination of Arabian Sunni Islam, but Judaism as a target is – shall we put it – more politically-convenient.)
The recent-built Jamkaran Mosque, and the pseudo-history behind it, symbolizes everything “sacred” to the Khomeinist ulema. All of it is utter fraud. The occluded Mahdi doesn’t “frequent” the bottom of that well. There’s no link to him in Iran. Only in what’s now Iraq.
Today’s theocracy will inevitably die, and given events of and since the June 2009 election, odds are that the means of its passing will be bloodily Jacobin.
