The New York Times famously refuses to give up the Pulitzer won for saying that Stalin didn’t starve any of the 10 million rural Ukrainians in the deliberately-caused famine of 1932-33. Today, Pakistan’s government and one of its major newspapers are exclaiming that the country and its Deobandist culture haven’t any sort of connection to the massacre the other day in the Indian-held part of Kashmir.
Point is, blatantly-idiotic propaganda is (a) a universal tool, and (b) seen as righteously-applied by those who create it.
