“Shiite Iran wants nothing more than to stab itself into the heart of the largely Sunni Muslim-Arab world and take control of it. Vali Nasr, a professor at the Naval Postgraduate School and an expert on the Shiite revival, warns that the whole Middle East is at risk of a ‘sectarian conflict between Shiites and Sunnis.’ “

There is also the Hojjatiyeh (Hojjatieh) Sect, which controls the present theocracy’s sociopolitical actions.
They hold that the return of the occluded 12th Imam (who will succor the chaotically-oppressed Faithful) can be hastened by mortal man (by increasing the oppression, for instance by bringing a Jewish nuclear attack upon Iran, by launching an Iranian one on Israel.)
Fordow was built near Qom for a theological reason.

The Donald’s political (cough) “mindset” is most certainly NOT ordinary. Neither is the Qom theocracy.
There is a distant legend that the occluded 12th Imam frequents the bottom of an ancient water well near the city of Qom. That well is now surrounded by the magnificent Jamkaran Mosque, built by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad after he took office as President in 2005. One of Ahmadinejad’s first actions as President was for himself and his Cabinet to sign a letter of allegiance to the Imam, and to drop it into that well.
There’s no regime change, none whatsoever (so far.). It’s Mojtaba, which says that Iran’s “theocratic” dictatorship isn’t one.
IIRC, every Marxist government turned into a military dictatorship. Ruhollah Khomeini’s vilayet-i-faquih has followed that course too.
Since the early Eighties, Mojtaba’s father was a close friend of the founding leaders of the Sepah Pasdaran. Mojtaba controls the family fortune, and is now the Madam of the political whorehouse.
Mr. Orton, are you aware of this column by Richard Z. Chesnoff? Circa 7-25-2006 was at Jewish World Review, but now at FDD.
