    Seems to me that the Holocaust exterminations were unique in history – at least in the West.

    Wannsee indicates a strong degree of studious rationality, which is the unique part.

    It’s like: “No, we don’t want rabid emotionalism, because that might hinder getting the job done as thoroughly as we want.”

    Rwandan rabidity is undoubtedly the most common, and a lot of that happened in Nazi-held Europe during the ’30s and ’40s, but Wannsee was d*mn near “bureaucratic”.
