What’s interesting is that there was a “peace process” going on in Turkey several years ago. The PKK (and even its TAK wing) had declared a truce, and they and the Ankara Government were in negotiations. Then Erdogan faced a serious election shortfall and needed an evil threat with which to rally his populist base. It was said in op-eds a bit later, all he ever wanted to begin with was a “process”.
In a similar (pun-alert) vein, the palace which the kid from the Istanbul dockyards built for himself can be reasonably characterized as scrotal inflation.
